Included in the Luangwa Special Safari price are: all activities, meals and accommodation, transfers to and from Chipata, all National Park entry fees, wine with dinner, all sundowners.

Day 1: Transfer to South Luangwa, afternoon/night safari drive

Day 2: Morning safari drive, afternoon safari walk

Day 3: All-day safari drive

Day 4: Bush breakfast, visit to Tribal Textiles (time permitting), transfer to Chipata

Full itinerary
Day 1:
Your South Luangwa Safari begins mid-morning as you are collected in Chipata and transferred to our beautiful campsite located within the surrounds of Wildlife Camp. Game viewing begins an hour before reaching camp as we drive through the heart of Lupande Game Management Area. You’ll have a quick briefing, settle into camp for lunch and embark on a game drive at 16:00 for two hours and stop at the secluded Oxbow Lagoons for sunsets drinks. Game drives at night offer excellent chances of see leopards, lions, honey badgers, Hyenas and plenty of other nocturnal animals South Luangwa reveals. You’ll arrive back between 20:00 and 20:30 for a delicious home cooked dinner.

Day 2

It’s an early wake up for your morning game drive. There’s a light breakfast, with coffee or tea before leaving on safari. This will be an excellent opportunity of see elephants, buffalo’s, giraffes, hippos and zebras. You return to camp around 11:00am for brunch. The afternoon is yours to enjoy a sleep, swim at the Wildlife Camp pool, drinks at the bar or exchanging pictures before having lunch. After lunch you’ll embark on a Walking Safari with an experienced guide and armed escort scout.  The guide will explain the art of tracking animals, varied fauna and flora of the valley.  You arrive back in camp for sundowners followed by a delicious dinner. The evening is spent around the campfire, looking at the stars and discussing the adventures so far.

Day 3

This day proves to be the highlight of your trip, our game drive takes you deep into South Luangwa National Park, venturing further than most visitors travel to. After an early start with a light breakfast you embark on an entire day adventure in the north sections of the national park. Following a welcome breakfast break in the vicinity of the Tena Crossing, you continue your game drive north.  You stop for lunch at Fish eagle Lagoon home to several pods of hippos and have some time to relax. In the afternoon the journey continues through the ebony groves and lagoons in an abundant wildlife area that always carries the anticipation of wild dog or eland sightings en route to our sunset spot. After sunset the night game drive begins with excellent opportunities to spot shy nocturnal animals such as genets, civets, bush babies and maybe even the diminutive Sharpe’s Ghrysbok. The adventure ends back at camp in time for a welcome BBQ dinner, drinks and a warming campfire. This is a long but very rewarding day.

Day 4

The final breakfast is a scrumptious affair, with a big fry up at the Kakumbi Salt Pan. This is a particularly special day for the bird lovers. The route passes through the hauntingly beautiful Cathedral Mopane Forests, besides the elephant and giraffe, chances to sees the specialized woodland birds, such as racket-tailed rollers and white-helmet shrikes. The salt pan itself attracts a host of water birds, and large flocks of the majestic crowned cranes are a virtual certainty.  It’s back to camp to get ready for the transfer to the airport. We will drive you to the airport to catch your flight back to Lusaka.
